Who We Are

 KED Strategies is a full-service consulting firm with a focus on federal government advocacy, strategic communications, and appropriations and budget issues. Our team served Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine) in various high-level capacities, and we have extensive Capitol Hill and advocacy experience.

Kevin Kelley

 Kevin Kelley is a veteran communications professional with more than three decades of public relations, media strategy, public policy, and campaign experience. An award-winning television journalist prior to joining Senator Susan Collins’ team as a trusted advisor in 2005, Kevin served as Senator Collins’ communications director, as Republican Staff Director for the Senate Special Committee on Aging for Chairman Collins, and as Deputy Campaign Director for Collins’ historic campaign victory in 2020.

Rob Epplin

Rob Epplin is a veteran Senate Republican staffer, having served on Capitol Hill for 33 years. Rob has broad legislative experience on issues ranging from tax, trade, budget, appropriations, to foreign policy. He is widely respected for expertise in policy, legislative process, and strategic planning on budget and appropriations issues. In addition to serving as legislative director for Senator Susan Collins, Rob also served former Senators Gordon Smith (R-OR) and Bob Packwood (R-OR) and held a variety of roles in the Executive branch including as an analyst at the Office of Management and Budget.

Mary Dietrich

 Mary Dietrich is a highly regarded appropriations and legislative strategist with decades of Capitol Hill experience. She served as Chief of Staff to Senator Susan Collins and as a senior staff member and a Subcommittee Staff Director of the Senate Appropriations Committee. As Chief of Staff, Mary was a key advisor on appropriations legislative policy and political strategy, and she had oversight of all 12 appropriations bills. Mary served as a senior staff member for the Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Subcommittee (LHHS) and as the Republican Subcommittee Staff Director for the Financial Services and General Government Subcommittee (FSGG), chaired by Senator Collins.
